Q. What surfaces can be refinished? Resurfacing procedures are designed for most bathroom tubs and sinks made of porcelain, fiberglass or cultured marble. The same process can be used on wall and floor tiles and all types of counter tops, either laminate, tile or cultured marble for baths and kitchens.
Q. How long will the refinish process take? Most jobs can be completed in 1 day. Total bathroom refinishing will take 2 to 2 1/2 days. We can schedule most jobs within a 48 hours of booking the job.
Q. How long will the refinished surface last? All tub, shower stall, and wall tile applications done by Resurface Specialist come with a limited 5 year warranty (call for details). Counter tops and sinks have a limited 1 year warranty. With reasonable care these surfaces should last up to 15 to 20 years before any measurable wear.
Q. Do you offer a skid resistant surface? Yes we do. Just ask us to add a SRS (Skid Resistant Surface) to the bottom of your tub or shower stall. There is an additional cost because this is a surface that is built into the base and is permanently affixed to the tub, not just some sticky pad taped on the bottom.
Q. Are all refinish companies and processes the same? NO! There are many different processes that might be called a refinishing or resurfacing. You need to check the company and the process. Two key items make a good refinish job:
- good refinishing products
- the experience and training of the person doing the job
Quality workmanship requires proper training. All of our technicians are extensively trained to provide you the maximum life from the quality products we use. We do the job the right way the first time and we stand behind our work.
Q. How do I clean the tub after the refinishing is done? We sell a cleaner made for cleaning resurfaced surfaces or you can use any “green” cleaner that does not contain abrasives and bleach. NEVER use any abrasive cleaner, this will void the warranty. If you have had your tub and tile refinished you will find it much easier to clean as the grout will be sealed.
Q. Will a refinished tub or tile look repainted? A good refinishing job should look like a new tub and tile. We train our techs to make each job look like a new application. Most people cannot tell a Resurface Specialist job to a brand new tub.
Q. Does this process go on commercial jobs like apartments and hotels? Absolutely! This process is a huge cost savings on apartments and hotels as we are done in one day and there is minimal disruption. Give us a call for a quote on any commercial project.
